American Saddlebred Horses in Arizona
Although they are most commonly known as the "Peacock of the Show Ring," American Saddlebred horses are actually very athletic and versatile horses that have great hearts and warm, willing personalities. The breed was developed by early American settlers who needed a horse strong, fast and comfortable enough to ride great distances, yet large enough and with sufficient endurance to pull carriages and light equipment. These horses excel in in many equestrian sports including: endurance, jumping, dressage, and even in working cattle. They make excellent trail horses, with a very comfortable trot that can be ridden all day.
If you are a trail riding enthusiast, you should give the American Saddlebred a try. If you live in or are moving to Arizona, be sure to enjoy the gorgeous Arizona desert from the back of an American Saddlebred horse. American Saddlebreds are sure-footed and, with their large heart capacity, make excellent endurance horses.
